Managing Your Money
Playing the slots is a fun thing to do, and a lot of people do this well. What everyone has to remember is that gambling is just that... a gamble. We have provided some ways for you to get the most from your games as well as making sure that you don't loose out on the big jackpot or have to walk home broke.
1. Your Bankroll
This is the first thing that you have to work out. How much money are you going to play on the slots with, and how long does that have to last you for? If you've got a lot of money to play with, you can afford to play for longer, but if you are on a smaller budget (like most of us) you'll have to decide how much you want to spend on each session, and how many sessions you are going to have in the time that you are going to be at the casino.
2. Your Bankroll For That Session
Each session can have a different bankroll, and that depends on how long you want to play the machines for. But don't steal from one bankroll to pad another one out. That will leave you to less enjoyment later on.
3. Rolling Stop-Loss
The way this works is an easy concept. Just put away your winnings. If you are playing a session with $50, and you are lucky enough to win another $50 on top of that, put the $50 that you have won away and don't put it back into the machines. That way you'll always be taking something home.
4. The Size Of Your Bets
With the huge range of coin sizes that are available in online slots now, the big question is which one to play? You can play penny slots and have your risk being a lot smaller, or you can play $1 slots and risk loosing a lot more in a shorter time.
5. Maximum Bets
Playing the maximum bet is tempting on a lot of machines thanks to the higher jackpots on offer when you play the max bets, but you have to keep in mind what your bankroll is and what you can spend in that session. If the max bet is to high, choose a machine that has a smaller coin denomination, and play the max bets there to be in the running for the jackpot.
6. Limits For Losses
This comes down to your bank roll again. Always set a limit for how much you are willing to loose on that session, and don't go past that total. If you have a limit for loosing $100, don't put any more in to the machines.
7. Goals For Winning
You should also set a goal for how much you want to win in a session. This way you won't go throwing your winnings away trying to win even more when you should just take your winnings, walk away and be happy with your winnings.
8. Know Your Game
Always take the time to read and understand the pay table on the slot machine, and always find out how the pay lines work so that you can know what to look for and what you need to do to be in the running for any extra games, jackpots or other features on that machine. As the machines get more and more sophisticated, this will be more and more important.
